The 4WP6D6X/OF/5 spool valve is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth as part of the WP Pneumatic Spool Valves series and directs pressurized fluid in hydraulic automation circuits. Pneumatic actuation lets compressed air shift the spool, so no electrical solenoid is required. Its porting pattern complies with ISO 4401-03-02-0-05, allowing direct mounting on common NG6 subplates. A clamping length of 42 mm holds the body tightly in sandwich stacks, and installation is permissible in any position to simplify manifold layouts. The flow path accommodates up to 60 l/min for medium-capacity cylinders and motors. System pressure can reach 315 bar on the P, A, and B lines, while the T port is limited to 160 bar to protect the return circuit. Spool movement begins once the pilot supply attains the minimum pressure of 4 bar, ensuring consistent operation with low air feed.
The pilot circuit may rise to 10 bar, providing extra force for fast shifts when higher responsiveness is needed. Each actuation consumes 4.24 cm³ of pilot air, a value used to size accumulators and air lines. A maximum switching frequency of 7 200 cycles per hour supports high-speed repetition in automated stations. Acceptable fluid viscosity starts at 2.8 mm²/s and extends to 500 mm²/s, allowing the valve to function with both light and heavy oil grades. Cleanliness class ISO 4406 20/18/15 defines the filtration level required to limit abrasive wear on the spool and seats. Ambient temperatures may reach 80 °C without impairing the housing or seals, and hydraulic fluid can rise to the same 80 °C without restricting service life.
