The 4WN10C3X/12 valve is part of the WP Pneumatic Spool Valves series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth for hydraulic automation circuits where directional control is required. Size 10 defines the subplate interface that accepts this model, and a maximum flow of 160 l/min permits medium-capacity cylinders or motors to operate without excessive pressure drop. The valve withstands 350 bar on ports A, B, and P, enabling use in high-pressure power units. Its ISO 4401-05-04-0-05 porting pattern aligns with standard manifolds for straightforward installation. Mounting orientation is flexible because the unit can be installed in any position. Ambient temperatures may reach 70 °C, so placement near heated machinery is acceptable. The control pilot requires at least 1.5 bar to shift the spool and should not exceed 10 bar, which guides the design of the pilot supply circuit. Each actuation consumes 23.7 cm³ of pilot oil, providing a basis for sizing accumulators and response-time calculations. A 7/16-20 UNF threaded port is provided for the pilot connection, simplifying hose selection. The tank port tolerates up to 210 bar, allowing back-pressure-sensitive actuators to share the same return line. Hydraulic fluids must stay above 2.8 mm²/s to preserve lubrication and below 500 mm²/s to avoid sluggish movement when oil is cold. M6 × 40 screws conforming to ISO 4762 secure the valve to the manifold and maintain clamping force under pressure cycling.
