The H-4WMM16J7X/ directional spool valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the WM Directional Spool Valves series to route pressurized oil in hydraulic automation systems. It relies on hand lever actuation so operators can shift the spool directly when electrical or pilot pressure is not available. A lever travel of 2 × 26° from the center defines the stroke needed to reach each switching position. The spring return demands no more than 75 N, making manual control manageable while automatically returning the lever to neutral. With spool type J the valve passes up to 300 l/min, supporting circuits that require high volume flow. Ports A, B, and P tolerate pressures to 350 bar for use with high-pressure pumps, whereas port T is limited to 250 bar so return lines remain within safe stress limits. The body mounts on an ISO 4401-07-07-0-05 interface, allowing direct installation on standardized subplates.

The valve accepts HL or HLP mineral oils according to DIN 51524, ensuring compatibility with common hydraulic fluids. A viscosity window of 2.8 to 380 mm²/s keeps spool movement consistent from cold start to full operating temperature. Hydraulic fluid temperatures from –30 to +80 °C, matched by the same ambient range, permit operation in outdoor or unheated facilities. Cleanliness class ISO 4406 20/18/15 sets the particle limit and guides filter sizing to safeguard internal lands. Because the installation position is optional, designers can orient the housing in any direction without affecting performance. These limits maintain predictable flow direction and provide a dependable manual override for automated systems, while the combined chemical, thermal, and contamination controls help preserve service life.
