The 4WHD10H3X/12 directional spool valve belongs to the WHD Directional Spool Valves series and is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth to route pressurized oil in hydraulic automation circuits. It works with HL or HLP fluids defined in DIN 51524 and supports a maximum flow rate of 120 l/min. Ports P, A, and B can operate at 315 bar, while the tank port rating is 160 bar to protect the return channel. The internal spool moves 5.5 mm per shift, and actuation requires pilot pressures between 10 bar and 100 bar with a pilot volume of 3.83 cm³. ISO 4406 cleanliness class 20/18/15 must be maintained to prevent sticking and wear.
Installation and environmental limits further define the valve. It mounts on the ISO 4401-05-04-0-05 interface from DIN 24340-A10, secured by M6 × 40 bolts rated to ISO 4762-10.9, each tightened to 9 Nm. A 12 × 2 O-ring seals every port against the manifold. Continuous service is allowed at ambient temperatures up to 80 °C, and the housing can endure 170 °C for one hour during short-term overloads. External case pressure may reach 6.5 bar, enabling mounting below fluid level in closed systems. These mechanical and environmental ratings support reliable operation where temperature variation, manifold conformity, and controlled bolt tension are critical.
