Pilot oil is supplied internally through port ET, and the return flow is routed internally to tank via port T, so no external lines are required for the control circuit. Port T can tolerate an external backpressure of 250 bar, allowing the valve to operate in circuits with high return-line pressures. To protect precise sliding fits, the hydraulic fluid must meet cleanliness class ISO 4406 (c) 20/18/15, thereby limiting particle concentration. When the energizing signal is removed, a hydraulic spool return brings the valve back to its neutral position without electrical assistance. A body coating not exceeding 100 µm shields the housing from corrosion, and a mean time to dangerous failure of 100 years supports functional-safety calculations in long-life industrial equipment.
