The 4WH6Y5X/12 directional spool valve is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth within the WEH Directional Spool Valves series and provides hydraulic actuation for automated motion control. It is built to size 6 dimensions and mates with the ISO 4401-03-02-0-05 (D03) mounting pattern, so it drops onto standardized subplates without modification. Subplate mounting keeps pressure passages inside the manifold and removes the need for threaded ports in the valve body. Four working ports support the usual pressure, tank, and dual work-line layout, while a spool marked with symbol Y defines the internal flow paths selected by the operator. Radial control connections place pilot lines perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, conserving cabinet depth. Acceptable viscosity ranges from 2.8 to 500 mm²/s, so both light and heavy oils can be used without loss of control accuracy. Fluid temperatures may run from –30 °C to +80 °C, accommodating cold starts as well as elevated reservoir conditions when nitrile seals are installed. A switching frequency ceiling of 7 200 cycles per hour lets the spool shift rapidly in servo-type applications while maintaining thermal stability.
