The 4WH6D5X/ directional spool valve is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth as part of the WEH Directional Spool Valves series and is intended to route fluid in hydraulic automation systems. Hydraulic actuation moves the spool so no external solenoid or pilot pressure is required. Nominal size 6 keeps the envelope small while matching common manifold passages. The D-coded spool supplies the flow paths needed for double-acting cylinders, and four ports support pressure, tank, and two work lines. Two switching positions alternate the cylinder direction, and a switching frequency of 7,200 cycles per hour enables rapid indexing tasks. The unit tolerates operating pressures up to 315 bar, letting it interface with high-pressure pumps, and it passes up to 60 L/min without excessive pressure drop.
Subplate mounting simplifies replacement, and the base pattern follows DIN 24340 Form A so the valve fits standardized manifolds. Radially oriented control ports keep hose bends short. A 42 mm clamping length secures the body with common cap screws, and the design excludes a locating hole, so alignment relies on the bolts alone. The return port T may see back-pressure up to 160 bar before the seals are stressed. NBR sealing elements provide compatibility with typical mineral oils, and the required cleanliness level of ISO 4406 code 20/18/15 minimizes wear and sticking. These features combine to deliver reliable, compact flow control in automated hydraulic machinery.
