The 4WH22HC7X/ directional spool valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth for the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. It switches pressure flow paths in hydraulic automation circuits. The valve uses the NG25, also noted as size W.H 22, which matches manifolds sized for medium-flow machines. A porting pattern of ISO 4401-08-08-0-05 lets it drop onto standard subplates without additional drilling. Main ports P, A, and B tolerate operating pressures up to 280 bar, so the body withstands typical system levels. At that pressure it passes up to 450 l/min, supporting high actuator speeds. The pilot stage requires at least 8 bar to shift the spool and may be supplied with as much as 210 bar, giving wide control flexibility.
The tank port t can be subjected to 250 bar, allowing return lines that momentarily rise above normal reservoir pressure. When port Y is used for external drainage, its pressure must remain below 210 bar to protect the pilot seals. System oil must meet cleanliness class 20/18/15 under ISO 4406(c) to prevent spool sticking and premature wear. Installation calls for six M12 × 60 bolts compliant with ISO 4762, and each bolt is tightened to 100 Nm to secure the valve against load shocks. An average mean time to dangerous failure of 150 years illustrates the long-term reliability expected in safety-relevant circuits.
