The 4WH22C7X/ directional valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth as part of the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. It routes pressurized fluid in hydraulic automation circuits and is actuated hydraulically, eliminating the need for electric or manual operators. The NG25 size supports mounting on manifolds that follow the ISO 4401-08-08-0-05 porting pattern, so the valve integrates with standardized subplates. Two spool positions are provided under the C spool symbol to switch flow between work ports. A maximum flow of 450 l/min permits high-volume lines while the rated operating pressure of 280 bar for ports P, A, and B accommodates medium-pressure systems. When installed as a two-position valve, the pilot stage only requires 11 bar to shift the spool, which reduces control power demand.
The pilot circuit is configured for an external oil supply on port X and an external return on port Y, allowing designers to isolate control oil from the main flow path. Pilot pressure may be raised up to 210 bar without damaging the control stage, and the same 210 bar limit applies to the Y port during return. The T port withstands up to 250 bar so back-pressure in the tank line does not hinder operation. System cleanliness must achieve class 20/18/15 per ISO 4406 to prevent spool sticking and wear. A mean time to dangerous failure of 150 years contributes to high functional safety targets. The surface coating is limited to 100 µm in thickness to keep mounting dimensions accurate and to guard the body against corrosion.
