The 4WH16H7X/ directional spool valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth as part of the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. Designed for hydraulic automation, it switches pressurized flow to actuators on demand. Hydraulic actuation shifts the spool, and nominal size NG16 defines the flow section for medium-capacity circuits. A 4-way configuration provides four service ports—P, A, B, and T—for supply, two work lines, and return. External pilot ports X and Y permit an independent control pressure path. The main ports P, A, and B withstand operating pressures up to 280 bar, while the pilot stage accepts up to 250 bar, allowing safe operation in high-pressure systems.
Subplate mounting simplifies installation; the valve mates with the ISO 4401-07-07-0-05 interface and seats against a surface finished to a maximum roughness of Rz 4 µm. Four M10 × 60 screws according to ISO 4762 secure the body, and each screw is torqued to 58 Nm to maintain gasket compression. This arrangement allows the hydraulic lines on the base plate to remain undisturbed during service exchanges. The assembly weighs 7.3 kg, so normal handling equipment is sufficient during maintenance. A calculated mean time to dangerous failure of 150 years supports long service intervals and high system availability.
