The 4WH10W4X/ directional spool valve is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth for the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. As a 4-way, hydraulically actuated element, it directs pressurized fluid to selected circuits in automated machinery. The valve is built in nominal size NG10, giving passage dimensions suited to medium-capacity power units. A maximum flow of 160 l/min allows rapid actuator movement in high-duty cycles, while a maximum operating pressure of 280 bar at ports P, A, and B supports robust force transmission. When the spool is in the neutral position, the available cross-section of 2.4 mm² limits leakage to maintain standby stability. The surface is coated with a 100 µm protection layer to resist corrosion in exposed installations, and the required oil cleanliness is ISO 4406 20/18/15 to protect internal sliding fits from abrasion.
Mounting interface ISO 4401-05-05-0-05 lets the valve bolt directly to standardized subplates, secured with M6 × 45 screws tightened to 12.5 Nm. A pilot flow of 35 l/min achieves the shortest switching times, improving cycle efficiency in servo-controlled systems. The pilot stage tolerates up to 250 bar and requires at least 12 bar when spring-centered, so designers must size the pilot supply accordingly. Port T can safely carry return pressure up to 280 bar, whereas port Y is limited to 250 bar, guiding manifold relief settings. These hydraulic limits combine with the other characteristics above to provide reliable spool positioning under demanding automation loads. The unified interface and hardware also simplify replacement during scheduled service, and adherence to the pressure margins helps prevent shock loading when actuators reverse direction.
