The 4WEH22E7X/6EW110N9K4/V directional spool valve is built by Bosch Rexroth for the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. It directs hydraulic flow in automation systems that require remote pilot operation. The valve conforms to size NG25 so it mates with circuits designed for that passage diameter. A four-way port pattern provides pressure, tank, and two actuator lines, while the spool is arranged in three spring-centered positions to return to neutral when pilot pressure is removed. The E-coded spool geometry sets the flow paths selected during actuation. Installation is on subplates drilled to ISO 4401-08-08-0-05, and the pilot lines are connected externally through X and Y ports which keeps pilot oil separate from the main flow. A concealed manual override identified by the N9 code lets maintenance personnel shift the spool without electrical power. Electrical actuation is wired through a DIN EN 175301-803 K4 connector, and FKM seals marked by the suffix V resist high temperature and aggressive fluids. The spool starts to shift at a pilot pressure of 10.5 bar, ensuring reliable centering until the circuit reaches control pressure.


During operation the valve passes up to 450 liters per minute when fully shifted, supporting large actuator speeds. Working lines P, A, and B can be pressurized to 280 bar, while the tank port is limited to 250 bar to protect return plumbing. The pilot stage tolerates pressures up to 210 bar so it can be fed from the main pump without a reducer. A pilot volume of 7.64 cm³ must be filled to move the spool between positions, a factor to consider when selecting control valves and timing. System cleanliness needs to stay at ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 or better to prevent wear in the precision-ground lands. The combination of high flow capacity, generous pressure ratings, and compact pilot cavity lets the valve shift rapidly in demanding presses, die-casting machines, and mobile attachments without excessive energy loss. Once the energizing signal is removed, the spring package returns the spool to neutral, ensuring repeatable circuit shutdown under the stated limits.
