Designed for hydraulic automation, it uses electro-hydraulic actuation to shift the spool and change flow paths under remote electrical command. The unit follows a 4-way configuration so it can connect pressure, tank, and two work ports for bidirectional actuator control. Ports P, A, and B withstand operating pressures up to 350 bar, while the HD spool permits a maximum flow of 300 l/min to support fast cylinder movement. The porting pattern complies with ISO 4401-07-07-0-05, enabling direct mounting on standard sub-plates. The valve is installed in a horizontal position to keep internal pilot passages filled with oil. Pilot oil is supplied internally from the pressure port and returned externally to the tank, reducing heat build-up in the main manifold. A hydraulic return mechanism re-centers the control spool after each shift.

Fluid cleanliness must reach ISO 4406 (c) 20/18/15, a level that limits solid contaminants to maintain small clearance between spool and housing. A concealed manual override allows technicians to shift the spool locally during commissioning or fault tracing while keeping the valve envelope smooth and protected. Pilot staging is carried out by a type 6E solenoid valve that meters control oil to the end faces of the main spool for precise movement. The pilot gallery accepts pressures up to 250 bar, yet the spool only needs a minimum of 14 bar to reach its hydraulic end position, which saves energy in low-pressure circuits. When the unit is secured to the manifold, each fixing screw must be tightened to 58 Nm so the sealing rings are compressed uniformly and external leakage is avoided.
