The 4WEH16E7X/6EW110N9K4 directional spool valve is part of the WEH Directional Spool Valves series from Bosch Rexroth. It directs pressure and return lines in hydraulic automation by shifting a 4-way, 3-position spool. The valve uses the ISO 4401-07-07-0-05 mounting pattern so it mates with NG16 subplates without adapters. With a nominal size of NG16 and spool type E, the design supports flow rates up to 300 l/min for medium-capacity circuits. Pressure at ports P, A, and B can reach 280 bar, while the T and Y return ports tolerate up to 250 bar so back-pressure does not damage the housing. Pilot oil is fed through an external X port and exhausted through an external Y port, isolating control oil from the main flow. A spring-centered arrangement keeps the spool in neutral until pilot pressure rises above 14 bar, ensuring stable off-state behavior.
The pilot stage may be supplied with pressures up to 250 bar, giving a broad control range for proportional actuation. Acceptable fluid viscosity spans 2.8 to 500 mm²/s, allowing operation with most mineral-based hydraulic oils. Temperature limits from −20 °C to +80 °C (with NBR seals) prevent seal degradation during cold starts or elevated ambient heat. Required cleanliness is ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 or better to minimize spool wear. Electrical actuation is provided through a DIN EN 175301-803 K4 connector, and a concealed N9 manual override lets maintenance staff shift the spool without power. The assembly with two solenoids and spring centering weighs 8.9 kg, which simplifies handling during manifold installation.
