The 4WEH16D7X/6EG96N9K4 directional spool valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth for the WEH Directional Spool Valves series. It directs pressure and return lines in hydraulic automation where electrical signals must shift high-flow circuits. The nominal size NG16 establishes passage dimensions suited to medium-frame machinery, while the 4-way configuration routes pressure to two service ports and simultaneously opens a tank return. Two switching positions provide simple extend-retract logic. Electro-hydraulic actuation uses an internal pilot stage so low electrical power can move the main spool under load. An external pilot oil supply supports independent control pressure, and an external pilot oil return sends pilot flow back to tank without loading port T. Installation on a subplate is achieved through the ISO 4401-07-07-0-05 mounting interface.
Hydraulic limits and service features define operating capability. The valve handles a maximum flow of 300 l/min through spool D, enabling fast cylinder motion when system demand is high. Operating pressure on ports P, A, and B is permitted up to 280 bar, while pilot circuits may be supplied up to 250 bar and must maintain at least 14 bar for reliable shifting with the spring-loaded two-position arrangement. Port T tolerates 250 bar when the Y drainage is routed externally, and the separate Y port itself is rated for 210 bar. Electrical connection is provided through a DIN EN 175301-803 K4 plug that simplifies coil wiring. A concealed N9 manual override lets maintenance staff move the spool without energizing the solenoid, and the valve requires oil cleanliness of ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 to protect internal clearances.
