The 4WE6E73-6X/EG12N9K4/A12 valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the WE Directional Spool Valves series. It routes hydraulic flow between ports to control actuators in automated systems. The nominal size 6 interface allows installation on standard NG6 subplates. Working ports p, a, and b withstand up to 350 bar so the valve can be used in high-pressure circuits, whereas the tank port is limited to 210 bar to protect return lines. A maximum direct current flow of 80 L/min supports medium-capacity cylinders and motors. The solenoid windings draw 30 W at the rated 12 V DC supply, and the electronics accept a ±10 % voltage swing, so stable shifting is maintained under battery or rectified sources. Continuous operation is possible because the coils are specified for a 100 % duty cycle.
The electrical interface uses a DIN EN 175301-803 K4 connector that simplifies field wiring and provides keyed polarity. An IP65 enclosure rating shields the coils and wiring from dust and water jets encountered in mobile or factory environments. Coil surface temperature may rise to 120 °C during prolonged energization, therefore suitable insulation class and spacing are required in the manifold. For manual positioning during maintenance, a concealed override designated N9 is provided, and this feature may be actuated against tank pressures up to 50 bar. Hydraulic cleanliness should not exceed ISO 4406 code 20/18/15 to avoid spool sticking. The assembly with two solenoids weighs 1.95 kg, enabling easy handling during installation.
