The 4WE6E6X/EW230N9DAL/62 directional spool valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the WE Directional Spool Valves series. It directs hydraulic flow in automated circuits and uses a solenoid rated at 230 VAC for 50 or 60 Hz supplies to energize the spool. The coil draws 0.16 A at that voltage, so panel fusing can be sized accordingly. Switch-on power reaches 220 VA to overcome initial magnetic reluctance, while holding power stabilizes at 50 VA to limit heat once the spool is shifted. Continuous operation is supported by a 100 percent duty cycle classified as S1, and safe service is maintained with a voltage tolerance of ±10 percent to accommodate line variation. Under sustained energization the coil surface may reach 120 °C, therefore wiring insulation must match this temperature. The actuation system permits a maximum switching frequency of two cycles per second, which defines the speed at which the valve can repeatedly change states in machine sequences.

The hydraulic section withstands 350 bar on ports P, A, and B, enabling the valve to manage high-pressure supply lines. Flow up to 60 l/min can pass through the metering slots, matching medium-size actuator demands. The tank port is limited to 160 bar during normal duty, and a concealed manual override is provided for test strokes when the coil is not powered; this override may be used only when back-pressure to tank does not exceed 50 bar. Proper fluid cleanliness of ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 is required to preserve spool clearances and avoid wear. Installation follows the NFPA T3.5.1 D03 mounting pattern, and line connections correspond to the ISO 4401-03-02-0-05 porting pattern, simplifying manifold interchangeability.
