S20P05-1X/V

The S20P05-1X/V check valve is produced by Bosch Rexroth within the Type S Check Valves series and is intended to block reverse flow in hydraulic automation systems. It fits pipelines with a nominal size of NG 20, providing the passage area required for medium-capacity circuits. A body diameter of 42 mm keeps the unit compact so it can thread directly into tight manifolds. The poppet lifts at a cracking pressure of 0.5 bar, allowing early flow establishment with minimal energy loss. With a maximum operating pressure of 450 bar, the steel housing tolerates high-pressure cycles typical of presses and forging equipment. Operation remains stable at fluid temperatures down to −30 °C, supporting cold-climate start-ups, and up to 80 °C when mineral oil is used. A wrench size of 36 mm simplifies tightening during installation, while the 1.0 kg weight allows a single technician to handle the valve without lifting gear.

The valve is compatible with hydraulic fluids that meet DIN 51524, ensuring the seals and internal coatings perform correctly with standard mineral oils. It requires a cleanliness class of ISO 4406 20/18/15 to minimize abrasive wear on the seat and poppet. An MTTFd of 150 years supports safety-related calculations where high diagnostic coverage is needed. Acceptable viscosity spans from 2.8 mm²/s to 500 mm²/s, so the poppet can move freely with thin start-up oils yet remain lubricated when the fluid thickens at low temperatures. For water-containing fluids, the maximum temperature is limited to 60 °C to prevent steam formation and protect elastomer seals. Together, these limits allow the S20P05-1X/V to function reliably across a wide range of industrial and mobile hydraulic applications.
