A built-in 0.6 mm orifice meters pilot oil to avoid pressure shocks during switching.
The valve is specified for mineral oil grades HL or HLP as defined in DIN 51524, and the system fluid must meet ISO 4406 class 20/18/15 cleanliness to prevent premature wear. The control and measuring port carries a G 1/4 thread in accordance with ISO 228/1, while the preferred installation orientation is upright with port X on top to promote reliable pilot venting. Sealing elements are made from FKM to withstand elevated temperatures and aggressive additives found in modern hydraulic oils. A secondary relief valve is not included, so over-pressure protection must be supplied elsewhere in the circuit.
