The AA2FM63/61W-VSD520 hydraulic motor belongs to the A2FM Fixed Motors series from Bosch Rexroth. The bent-axis fixed design provides constant displacement, which simplifies closed-loop speed control in hydraulic automation. In motor operating mode it converts pressurized mineral oil HLP (DIN 51524) into mechanical torque for machinery. Bidirectional rotation lets the shaft run in either direction without additional valves. The fluid must meet a cleanliness level of ISO 4406 20/18/15 to limit wear, and FKM seals are installed for chemical compatibility. Uniform motion starts at 50 rpm, while the high-pressure side must stay above 25 bar to keep hydrostatic films intact. Continuous service is allowed with viscosities from 10 to 400 mm²/s, and the optimum band of 16 to 36 mm²/s minimizes leakage and heat.
For pressure sizing, the motor carries a nominal rating of 400 bar and supports full-load peaks up to 450 bar, while a total limit of 700 bar protects the rotating group against shock loads. Pressure can change at rates as high as 9000 bar/s, allowing rapid reversals without cavitation. Cold starts remain possible at −25 °C, and oil at port T may reach +103 °C during extended duty, temperature limits that guide heater and cooler selection in mobile or industrial installations.
